The Star Wars franchise is arguably one of the most powerful and famous TV franchises of all time. After all, it’s rare to interact with someone who hasn’t at least heard of Darth Vader or Princess Leia before. The franchise, founded by George Lucas in 1971, has gone in various directions since its first conception.

Although you may know the history of the film franchise, the history of the logo itself is different and has a complicated history to get to the point we see now. In this article, we’ll break down the history of the Star Wars logo from its inception to where it is today. Let’s get started.

After taking a look at this contest and seeing how fascinating all the details were, we were instantly excited to share it with our readers. 

That’s why we collected our favorite entries to share with you, as well as the winning entry and the important details that our creatives looked at to design their concepts. Below we share all of this and more, so make sure to keep reading! 

In their contest brief, the client described what they were looking for as the following: “It should possibly connote what we do, as when I give my business card as a woman, we are often mistaken as an outlet for lotions or messages. It would also suffice if it gives one the idea of what we are about. (I have no idea what that looks like. lol). Also, people always wonder what TGIF stands for (To Get It Fixed….in case you forget the name, you say to yourself, I need to get it fixed….of yes, TGIF).

Featured Design Contest: The Good News Bears

This contest sparked our interest and we thought that the final result was amazing! Let’s take a look at what was requested for this contest, what entries were submitted, and what the winning result was. 

The client started by filling out a creative brief describing what they were looking for and providing information about their business.

The company said that its business focused on providing baseball lessons to kids under seventeen. The company said that they would like a baseball and a bear included.

They also said, “Minimalist is good, modern is good, negative space is good. Creative is great. Could also feature a theme where the kids being coached are cubs. Baseball, gloves, bats, field, helmets, team”.

21 Iconic 90’s Logos to Get Transported Back in Time

There’s no doubt that fashion/ art/ visuals are such a green trend itself when tons of “former styles”, such as the fashion eras, the ’70s, or ’80s, seem to rebirth somehow in the modern era. So, because all eras come back somehow, it’s why today we’ll be living the comeback of 90’s visuals and a bit of 2000s.

That’s why today, in terms of logos, we’ll see that although minimal logos such as Google, Airbnb, or Spotify are the tops of the last decade, logos are returning to a 90s colorful vibe. 

In this case, we see that some of today’s logos simply aim for simplicity. Think of the sans-serif word marks and flat designs of Google, Airbnb, and Spotify, for example, and you realize that the adage ‘less is more’ is a popular and effective branding approach.
