This contest was run on Hatchwise for a mobile coffee shop that caters to young professionals, teenagers, gen xers, and all ages of coffee and tea enthusiasts for a new logo. The client was looking for a modern, sleek, and minimalist new logo to give their company the lift that it needed. The client said that the previous design that they used for their company was too busy and this time they were looking for something on the simpler and more minimalist side. They wanted our creatives to get imaginative and create something unique.
They wanted a fresh new look and Hatchwise creatives were ready to provide! Our creatives reviewed the information that the client provided in their contest brief and got to work on their entries! Let’s take a look at the entries that they submitted based on the information provided by the client!
This entry uses a simple black and white design to convey the company’s meaning and what it does. A circle is shown, with the company name inside of it, and in the center is a boy holding two coffee beans. The boy has character, with glasses, a scarf, and a sweatshirt on. This design is fun, simple, and does a great job at showing what the company does!
This entry shows a boy’s face on top of the company name, with coffee beans used for his hair. This entry is simpler than the first one shown, simply just using the company name and the boy’s face for the logo. The boy is smiling, and the only colors used here are two different shades of brown with a neutral background color.
This entry submitted is unique and stands out. The logo entry shows the company name rounded in a circle, and in the center is a young boy’s face with a bow tie. Behind the boy is a circle of coffee beans, showing what the company does. The colors used in this entry are dark brown, grey, and white. The logo is fun and simple!
This entry shows a boy sitting on a field inside a circle with the company name on the outside of the circle. To the left, the creative provided a mockup of how the design would look on a takeout coffee cup. This entry is different from the other ones given, subtly incorporating a coffee bean into the design to show what the company does while still keeping it simple.
This entry uses a dark red background with white lettering to stand out. The company name is in white, while in the center of the design there’s a boy at a coffee machine. This is a simple design, not showing anything other than the lettering and the small illustration in the design. To the right the creative shows a mockup of what the design would look like on a coffee cup.
After reviewing all the entries submitted by our creatives, the client chose a winning entry to use as their new logo. The winning entry is shown above, submitted by Hatchwise creative Fathenry.
The entry shows a red circle with the company name inside and in the center, a boy is standing with a beanstalk. The center is a brown coffee bean, clearly showing what the company does while still doing a play on the company name. The logo is simple and exactly what the client requested!
