Featured Design Contest: Star Team Handyman & General Contractors – Contracting Business Logo

This contest for a handyman and general contracting services company received a variety of creative entries for their new logo request. While we always see unique entries for contests, this contest especially saw a range of unique designs submitted. All of these designs showed different takes on the contest brief and what the client requested. Let’s take a look at all the different entries submitted for this contest. 

This first entry shows a house with a star in the middle and the company name below it. The logo is all red, with the star being the only white part that stands out on the red roof and letters. ‘Star Team’ is bolder in large letters with ‘Handyman & General Contractors’ in smaller letters underneath it. 

This entry is far different from the first one, using different color options and a different idea. This entry creatively uses a sat instead of an A in ‘Star’ and a crane coming off the side of it. This logo uses a dark grey and red for the color palette, giving the idea of what the company does with the crane included and the classic colors. 

This creative logo includes the star as the center of the design, with two construction tools coming off the sides. The name is in the center of the star, with the logo being in red and blue. There’s a window in the middle of the star, giving an impression of the star being a home. This logo is fun, creative, and certainly has personality! 

This entry shows what the company does by including a house in a box on top of the company name and a hammer coming out in the front. We see a red and blue used in this logo entry, with the two colors dispersed evenly throughout the design. This is a simple and basic logo that communicates the company’s purpose well. 

This is one of the most creative entries that was submitted in this contest, using the letters in the company name to show construction tools. This design uses blue and light red for the colors with a white background. The construction tools add creativity to this entry and the colors give it life. 

This entry is simple; displaying the company name in red and blue with a star shown in the company name and giving the impression of a shooting star. The two colors are intertwined in the name, with ‘Star Team’ in larger letters and the rest of the name in red beneath it. 

This entry is simpler than the other ones, only including the company name and a blue box to the left of the design. The upper part of the company name is in blue as well, with the ending of the name on the bottom being the only part in red. This entry may not be the most unique, but it does the job of a straightforward logo. 

The Result 

After reviewing all the entries submitted by our creatives and rating them, the client finally chose a winning entry. The entry is shown above, submitted by Hatchwise creative Fathenry. The winning entry uses the same signature colors and the company name with stars above and the Canadian flag symbol in between with construction tools.

Eaton Plumbing Inc – A family-owned and operated plumbing contracting business in Columbus, Ohio since 1974. They have a staff of about 50 employees, mainly consisting of men, but they do employ a handful of women. They are looking to create some new designs for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. They also provide a lot of shirts to builders and reps, so they want to create a shirt that has a cool look to it that people will actually wear it out and not just as a work shirt.
