Featured Design Contest: Vegan Samurai Clan -Vegan Community Logo

This logo design contest received a variety of fun and creative entries from some of our top designers! We loved getting the opportunity to see all these entries come through for this contest and see what Hatchwise creatives submitted. In this blog post, you can read about the company, what was asked for, see some of the entries yourself, and see the winning design! 

About The Company 

Vegan Samurai Clan is a company starting with the idea of embodying the vegan community and the Japanese samurai culture. The client wrote in their brief, “This is a company I am starting to embody my love and respect for the Vegan community/lifestyle. As well as the Japanese samurai culture. Both take discipline, hard work, dedication to accomplish fulfillment.” 

What They Asked For 

The client gave a list of what they would like included in the design, being detailed in what they would like included and not included. The client included the following in their design brief:

• Samurai swords
• Samurai helmet
• Vegan Samurai Clan circling the logo
• The letters VSC with the V having 3 leaves in the design
• The V to be prominent on the helmet as well.

The Entries 

After filling out their design brief, the client submitted their brief and Hatchwise creatives submitted their entries. The entire contest received a little under a hundred entries from talented creatives, all with different takes on the design brief and giving a variety of entries for the client to choose from. Here are three of the top entries for the contest.

This entry stands out for its creativity. For most of the design, light green is used, but in the circle, we see a few different colors used as well. The creative included what the client asked for and used their creativity in this entry.

Using the colors that were requested and including aspects the client asked for, this designer created a stunning option for the client to review. You can see the company tagline included along the bottom of the design, with two swords crossing in the middle.

This entry is different from the others given by using one solid color as the background instead of deciding to leave it white. The designer decided to go with the solid light green color for the circle and make the letters white. This design option certainly is interesting and stands out! 

The Result

After reviewing all the entries and rating the entries given, the client narrowed it down to the final designs. Once they found one that they loved, they chose the winning design and the creative was awarded the winner. This is the winning design, submitted by Hatchwise creative CanopeeDesigns.
