The Logo for Super Bowl LVI Revealed!

Despite just watching Tom Brady win his eighth Super Bowl ring in 2021, football fans around the world are already talking about next year’s game. Super Bowl LVI will take place in Inglewood, California, in the SoFi Stadium.

The Los Angeles Rams shared the logo design on their social media on February 9. The new design is a breath of fresh air and contains many iconic themes that pay homage to Los Angeles. Using sunset coloring and palm trees in the Roman numerals, the design has the recognizable flair of Los Angeles and California.

As always, the Lombardi trophy is displayed proudly among the numerals, sunset coloring, and palm trees. Seeing the local flair added in the logo design is an appreciated surprise as the more recent logos have felt underdeveloped or originality. This redesign draws more excitement around Super Bowl LVI but also honors the host: Los Angeles, California.

Hopefully, the touch of local flair survives in future designs.

When you compare this Super Bowl logo to the more recent ones, it feels like a completely new logo because of the regional themes they added. It adds more depth to the logo itself but also generates more excitement about the game too. It follows the same feeling regarding the logo for the Olympics.  Each logo for the Olympics plays on themes since the first competition, but it also uses design elements meant to honor the nation hosting the event.

The new Super Bowl logo follows a similar pattern, and hopefully, the sequent logos do the same. For example, the Super Bowl in 2023 will be held in Arizona, so the designers should add some iconic imagery representing the state. This new logo offers a breath of fresh air compared to the repeated Lombardi Trophy in front of a stadium with the Roman numerals.

We all can’t wait for the next Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, we have to, but the new fresh logo momentarily feeds our appetite. Super Bowl LVI will be held on February 6, 2022, at SoFi Stadium, which is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. This will be the first year since 1993 that the Super Bowl takes place in the Greater Los Angeles area.

As a city, Los Angeles has held the event a combine seven times, which also includes the first Super Bowl in 1967, which was called the AFL-NFL Championship Game. The stadium was recently under-construction, which is why it could not host this year’s Super Bowl.

After wrapping up construction, and the end of Super Bowl LV, the committee unveiled the upgraded SoFi stadium and the new Super Bowl LVI logo in a hype video featuring the rapper Snoop Dogg. Out of all announcements, the final provided us fans with a heart-stirring motto, “Champions Shine Here.”

The hype for the Super Bowl is felt in this new logo.

The newly announced logo carries some new elements the more recent designs haven’t. The fresh logo is the reason for all the excitement. Hopefully, the future committees take notice of the effective logo for Super Bowl LVI and build more local flair into the future logo designs.
