My Honest Review of BuzzCube.io

As time passes, our world becomes increasingly more visual, from social media accounts such as Instagram and TikTok to significantly visually based marketing. For businesses, this means that graphic design is paramount, a necessity for businesses that want to ensure they stay modern and create an unforgettable brand.

However, getting the designs necessary for a successful business is often a difficult task. An in-house designer can add costs up quickly, but having an individual design done on an as-needed basis is also expensive. So what’s the solution? Subscription unlimited graphic design services. One such company that offers unlimited subscription graphic design services is BuzzCube.

But is BuzzCube the best option for your business? Let’s take a look at my honest review of BuzzCube.

What is BuzzCube?

BuzzCube is an unlimited graphic design company that offers unlimited designs on a subscription basis. In addition to graphic design services, they also offer web development and web design services as needed. BuzzCube advertises itself as offering fast turnarounds and customers receiving unlimited graphic design and landing page builds for a monthly cost of $650. Customers get unlimited revisions, flawless communication, and a best-matched, dedicated designer without hidden fees or worrying over an extensive price list.

How Does BuzzCube Work?

After having an onboarding call with BuzzCube to determine the business’s needs and understand its brand, BuzzCube has a simple four-step process for clients.

  • Match with a designer: Clients will be matched with a dedicated designer within one business day of signing up to BuzzCube. Matches are based on company needs and details provided during the onboarding call. Clients communicate with their designer via Slack and are able to request a designer change if they feel the match isn’t best suited to them.
  • Submit a request: Next, clients will submit their request via their client portal or through email. Clients are able to put in as many requests as they like, and their dedicated designer will work through the requests with an average of one-day turnaround per request. BuzzCube specifies that landing page designs and building a website page usually take a 48-hour turnaround.
  • The designer starts on request. After receiving the client’s request, the dedicated designer will start to work on the request. Clients receive daily updates and communicate with their team via Slack and email. The designer sends over the design for the client to review, along with the requested exported file formats. The client can request unlimited revisions.
  • Build web pages. Once the client approves the design, BuzzCube will then send the design over to a developer to build the page. This step is only added if the client has requested a web design project.
BuzzCube pricing

How Much Does BuzzCube Cost?

BuzzCube costs a fixed monthly rate of $650. This includes unlimited design requests, revisions, 24/7 client support, unlimited users and brands, and one active project at a time. BuzzCube claims there are no hidden additional charges beyond the monthly subscription.

For brands that need more than one project worked on at a time, BuzzCube advertises an option with more designers. Clients can schedule a call to discuss pricing for this option.

What are the Pros & Cons of Using BuzzCube?

As with any business, there are drawbacks and advantages to using BuzzCube.

Pros

Flexibility and scalability

BuzzCube makes it easy for brands to scale up or down as their business changes. There are no contracts so clients are able to cancel at any point.

Unlimited graphic design and revisions

Having access to unlimited designs and revisions for a flat monthly fee is a necessity for businesses that need a significant amount of graphic design work done each month.

Access to web development

Websites can be expensive to design, maintain, and update. BuzzCube doesn’t force clients to incur additional website development costs; instead, it is included in their monthly subscription. This is particularly useful for brands that will need a lot of web development work done.

Cons

Lengthy turnaround times

Although BuzzCube advertises a one-day turnaround time for some projects, most have a two-day turnaround time. Compared to BuzzCube’s competition, which mainly offer 24-hour turnaround times, this can limit the number of requests that can be done monthly. Particularly, reviews show that clients are particularly unhappy with the revision turnaround times as they state many revisions seem to be able to be done quicker than a two-business-day turnaround per request.

Only offers web and graphic design

BuzzCube does not offer a broad scope in terms of services. They only offer web and graphic design. Although that may work for many businesses, others who need logo designs, blog images, or other digital marketing graphics will have to source a digital marketing team.

UK based hours

While BuzzCube offers good communication between the client and their designer, the accessibility of this communication can be difficult. Since BuzzCube is a UK-based company, it’s important to remember that clients are limited to UK business hours. This can make it harder to keep in contact and to access customer support when necessary.

What’s it Like to Work With BuzzCube?

Although BuzzCube boasts a wide selection of experienced designers, the reviews are mixed on the work environment designers’ experience. BuzzCube has a 2.8 out of 5-star rating on GlassDoor. Reviews talk about lengthy hours designing websites, tight deadlines, and getting ghosted after completing tasks. Positive reviews talk about the good salary they receive, good people to work with, and a good place to start and get experience.

Alternatives to BuzzCube

Fortunately, if BuzzCube doesn’t sound like the right option for you, you can explore plenty of alternatives—all of which offer flat-rate outsourced graphic design work.

One of the more popular options is Flocksy, a smaller company that offers a range of plans for clients. This allows more flexibility and allows companies to choose plans specific to their needs. Flocksy also offers video editing and voice-over services with specific plans, so if this is something clients need, they get a plan that includes these services.

Perhaps a less well-known option, Designjoy is another alternative to BuzzCube. Designjoy is similar to BuzzCube in the way that they function similarly and use Trello as their project management platform. The platform offers app and graphic design. However, Designjoy does take a significant jump when it comes to costs. Their lowest plan is $4,995 a month with an average 48-hour delivery for requests.

Penji is another alternative to BuzzCube; this option has similar pricing to theirs. Although Penji does not offer web design or motion graphics, they do have perks such as same-day delivery and subscription levels. Penji also matches you with a designer, and their services start at $499 a month.

Is BuzzCube Worth It?

Whether or not BuzzCube is worth it simply comes down to a company’s needs and preferences. Although BuzzCube does offer only one plan option, what is included is excellent for those who need web and graphic design services.  BuzzCube does have a niche by only providing these services, and they do lack in offering other services such as video editing, copywriting, and voice-over work.

However, for those who only need web and graphic design, BuzzCube is certainly an excellent option that has a lower price tag and a range of talent.
