Great ideas thus far. Some guidance: Although our name sounds playful, we're looking for a more serious, professional logo. Our target customer will often be entrusting their (or someone else's) entire life's accumulation of assets to us to be marketed and sold.

Great ideas! Some more guidance: We'd like any symbol that is part of the logo to be equal to or less prominent than the name. The natural progression is to incorporate a whole gavel, but it often ends up looking looking generic for an auction company or it overpowers the logo. I'm liking those who are creating imaginative "symbols." Keep it coming!

Lots of great entries! As the designs come in, it helps me to decide which direction I want to go. I didn't have a design in my mind but I know what I want it to say... I'm liking symmetry and balance. Corporate & creative over whimsical. Simpler is better. The challenge seems to be putting Auction & Orange into a coherent single symbol that isn't confusing or overpowering. I know its coming...great talent out there.

I can tell this is going to be a more difficult decision than I thought. Lots of excellent submissions. I have tried to comment on all to give an idea of what we are and aren't looking for. In addition I have linked the contest over to the National Auctioneer's forum, so they can see your work and designs as well. I will be taking their feedback into account, and some may well add their companies to the contest list. Thanks so far to everyone.

Although I subscribe to the "less is more", " simpler is better" school of thought, it is possible to be so simple that it falls into the generic category that lacks personality. My goal is to select a logo that while simple, has personality and creates the right impression. I know its out there!

Wow, I never expected so many submissions. It has been difficult to pin down exactly what I "want." For me, how it "feels" is more important. If I had something specific in mind, we wouldn't be doing this. I encourage everyone to check the scores and comments to get a better idea of what we might be looking for. Latest advice...Try to stay away from a literal orange...use just a hint. Bring in a creative, professional icon. Thanks again for everyone's participation.

It was a hard choice, but we've decided on a winner. It was very close and tough to choose from the several we really liked. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who submitted work to our contest. There were some wonderful ideas and some very thoughtful designs. Best of luck to all! Jeff
