TAP Engineering is a US-based engineering services company specializing in the research, development and rapid-prototyping of custom microelectronics hardware and software solutions for information-sensitive government and commercial clients.

The design should have the following

A cartoon remake of the famous George Washington crossing the Delaware River painting.

George, the captain, would be replaced by the “Secret Squirrel”. The US Flag would be replaced by the TAP Engineering flag (logo included). The people in the boat will be replaced by common characters and mascots from Maryland colleges, sports teams, and media/products as listed below. Each of the college mascots should be wearing a t-shirt indicating their college. Prominence should be given to the following characters: Secret Squirrel, Natty Boh mascot, UMD Terrapin, UMBC Retriever, JHU Blue Jay, Morgan State Bear, and the Purple Unicorn.

The River they are crossing in the image is the Potomac River in Washington DC, so having some DC landmarks in the background/horizon might be helpful for context (i.e, the Washington Monument).

The boat should be large and prominent, and the flag should clearly read “TAP”. As in the original painting, it should be clear that the characters are trying to cross the river.

Additionally, it would be ideal to include a drone (quad copter) in the image background with a Maryland Blue Crab hanging off of it. The Purple Unicorn, or any one of the prominent characters, could be controlling it.

The background of the t-shirt will be light so the logo should work well with a light background.

TAP is a hardware/electronics design firm. So, if there is a convenient way to include that as a subtle theme, that would be preferable.

The design is intended to be screen-printed on the back of a t-shirt. It should be optimized to fit any shirt size from a Women’s Small to a Men’s Large t-shirt.

We do recognize that a lot of colors are needed to create this; an effort to optimize the colors would be much appreciated.

With the winning design, we would need file formats on both white and transparent backgrounds.
