Describe your company and organization and target audience

Our company is a local electrical residential contracting business serving the west suburbs of Philadelphia. Our target audience consists of people who want things done right the first time and are willing to pay for quality service. We offer an informed and positive presence in the customers home and have a culture of communication, transparency, and enthusiasm. We use every available tool to be the best we can be both as people and technicians.

We are a faith based company but do not want to go as far as using a cross in our logo. However, a quote that we emanate is "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock."

Lastly, we are the electrical contractors that take no shortcuts, no loopholes, no inferior materials and no unqualified electricians.

The design should have the following

Update: At this point we like the concept of a Shield that also has a home in the shape. In addition a check mark and a light bulb. We are looking for the right simple nice look. The shield should say "protection" The light bulb should be shaped like an A19 bulb. It has to look right. Sheild needs edges. It should be clever and scalable. It can also be a house with plug shape and check mark as seen in some. That is one of my favorite right now.
Also try with logo to the left or right of the name and tag line.

Blue and Silver or alternitavly another color that goes well with metalic gray.


We want it to look different and appealing. A B or BB with lighting bolts isn't special enough. It has to be clever and unique. We worked with graphic artist already who came up with a lot of the normal attempts. We want simple scalable brandable genius.
Something that can only squeeze through those openings that come when inspiration and intuition are in perfect harmony.


The logo needs to clearly indicate an electrical business. We would like to include the concept of the house built upon a rock - strong, reliable and right.

The logo needs to be scalable unlike our current logo that is hard to read when small.

This logo will be used for

• Online (Website, facebook etc.)
• Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
• Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
• Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

Unfortunately, our logo cannot be a literal house on a rock. We should have realized this when first creating the brief but that imagery does not resonate with where we live.

Something that represents our different spark of unusual enthusiasm passion for our trade and excellence with in our trade.

Everyone says they are different but we actually are the different that people and companies strive towards when their culture becomes jaded.

The mark should not have BB or BBE in it so if we were to sell the business in the future we could and they could change the name.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

I love Blues and silver dark grey and white. My trucks are gun metal grey or as Ford calls it Magnetic Gray I believe.
I am open to using other colors but it is hard for me to let go of those colors.
We like gun metal grey because to me it has a strong mechanical toughness to it. I had my most recent truck special ordered in that color so what ever we do will go again a backdrop of strong gray.
I also like warm yellow and orange and I know they are popular right now. I think first we get the design and then colors.

Briefly describe your contest

One thing I like about "The Ranch" Logo is that you could seperate just the palm tree and put it on a shirt or a hat or something. The winne
