Describe your company and organization and target audience

The website is a collection of statistics and trivia connected to the American Award Season. We show stats for the Oscars, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice etc.
The main target audience is film and award fanatics from all over the world, while the secondary audience is professional awards pundits and journalists.

The design should have the following

The perfect design should be horizontal and not square, as a square logo would not fit the website design.
It should contain the name Award Stats and preferably a graphic element that could be used as a social media profile picture. The graphic/illustrative element should preferably be able to be used on it's own as well.
It is a difficult task to combine the glossy world of entertainment with the less glossy world of graphs, charts and percentages. We want to focus more on the entertainment part of the site, but references to statistic elements such as graphs, charts, percentages or similar will be a plus.
The audience needs to think of us as a fun way to dive into a sea of new information about the award shows. But at the same time we need to be seen as a credible source of information.

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
  • Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

It should not be square, and we should not have the most cliché images such as film reels, clapperboards and director chairs. For the right brilliant idea these elements would be OK, but as a starting point these should be avoided.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

Warm colors would be preferred. Typically award sites will use a combination of black, red and golden (yellow/orange nuances). We would prefer a golden nuance to be included to reference the award statuettes, but this is not a demand.
We would like to know the Hex color codes used in the logo, to be able to align website and other element.
