Old logo in desperate need of a "Refresh"!

D.C. Wood Baseball is an adult, amatuer baseball league. We are trying to attract Adults seeking to play wood bat baseball at a competitive level. Mostly ex-college players and ex-professionals.

The design should have the following:

Need a refresh to our old logo. We want to incorporate the outline of Washington D.C. and the potomac river that flows through it, with a baseball theme. The words D.C. Wood or D.C. Wood Baseball should be included.
NEWLY ADDED REQUEST: Please include the full D.C. Virginia outline in the logo. I've attached an image. It's almost a full square, with a cutoff piece at the bottom.

This logo will be used for:

Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
Online (website, online advertising, banner ads etc.)
Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
Television/screen
