Thank you for the early submissions for this contest. I wanted to clarify my direction of including shadow and light in the design. My thoughts on this are more along the lines of the highlights reflecting off of the font in the wet 3D capacity. If including shadow, then more of true directional opposite from the highlight source and ambient like recess neon glows, for example the glow from behind an ambilight plasma HDTV . I like the vibrant color ideas best but would not mind seeing the color go even bolder against metallic silvers and grays. More dimension being brought into the design feel would be a step in the right direction. I wanted to link to a couple of examples of light on objects but I am really thinking only on the text as being the icon reflective object unless a designer is thinking of a shape object or something abstract. For example: the word “Challenge” as opposed to the icon, having the reflective attributes. I am thinking of the web 2.0 terms like: - Rounded Corners Rounded corners can add a nice soft touch and give a smooth and flowing effect. -Wet Floor effect The use of reflections (aka the ‘Wet Floor’ effect) can add texture and dimension to a logo or button. -Gradients Gradients that really bring a web page to life and add a sleek and professional look and feel. -Big Buttons Draw attention to important elements of your site with big, bold buttons that incorporate a characteristically Web 2.0 gradient, glossy effect. -Space Not necessarily white space, but space all the same - regardless of colour scheme. Web 2.0 websites are uncluttered and feel spacious. -Lightbursts Another element often seen in Web 2.0 header designs – this one is simple and effective simple layouts: http://www.challengephoto.com/Logo_Examples.jpg Thanks again.

Having reviewed 20 or more of the other current design contest on the elogo site there have been some designers whose work has caught our attention repeatedly. This message is just a compliment to the range of designs presented in these other contest as well as an invitation with hopes that the following designers will enter here as well: awokiyama, altdhee, etnocad, jkapenga, kandsgraphics, jimdes@yahoo.com, TheBigFish, logomad, jojomarie, GreenEyesAnthony, Anastacio Vega, gozzi, flocks, ongyudicandra, alanisquibiris, abolresh, elandrya, woosh design, KayleeBugDesignStudio, elandrya. ***Please note that there were multiple names removed from the above list that are currently posting and obviously would have been redundant to include in the invitation. There will be request for revisions of some of the existing submissions upon further deliberation of the artwork, and again thank you for your existing design entries.

***This question is for all the designers. Does the tagline “shooting stars” bring any ideas benefiting the design? Hopefully this new concept may work by simplifying the overall layout to just the fundamentals of: “Challengephoto shooting stars”.

To answer your question, yes that tagline does bring some new ideas that may benefit the design.

Does that mean you no longer need it to say Challenge Roddie Photography and it can just say "Challengephoto"? Is "Roddie" your name, or is that a photographic term?
