Why is the website image not so easy to find? It was an option for me to download it so surely it's accessible to the designers? Rochelle Ann, tell me why the website doesn't work? I've put a vertical image in the space, although it will mostly be horizontal images--is that it? That it doesn't fill the space? If so, don't worry about that part. The main space will be filled. And the edges will be darker for the vertical so the viewer goes to the image and not all the space surrounding it. If that's not it, I'd love to hear your comments since it's under construction at the this point. Thanks for any input you might have, understanding that that's not what the contest is about...

Not sure why it doesn't work. When I type in the URL as both www.cheryldiazmeyer.com or http://cherylediazmeyer.com it comes up with an error saying the server cannot be found. I'll try it in another browser as I'm using Safari.

Nope - doesn't work in Firefox either. Am I the only one having trouble with this? CONTEST HOLDER - when you visit www.cheryldiazmeyer.com does it open for you? We are not seeing any uploaded images. George - can you help?

I'm really thankful for all of your work so far! Since I don't have time at the moment to check on why the website that I downloaded on savefile.com is not available to you, please feel free to look online for images by Cheryl Diaz Meyer to get an idea of the kind of pictures that will be featured on the site. It may help you. The color scheme is a medium gray with a hint of green and a light gray with shades of vague blue/gray.

I think that when you uploaded your images to SaveFile, you would have been given a unique URL. That is the URL you need to give us. :) Thanks for the tips on the color scheme - it helps a lot.

Strange, I went to savefile and it doesn't pull the file up, and it seemed to be having some issues. Will correct it later.

In the meanwhile, can I ask that we go back to the real basics, just a font, just a name, and let the font be very clean, dignified. I'm afraid that the word "artful" has ignited all your creative juices and much as I would like the "logo" to be creative, I'm getting nervous that it should be something very simple. I need it to say that here's a person who has been in the business a long time, is reliable, not too hip, but creative. I like many of the things I'm seeing so far, but if I look at them as a whole, they say "young" to me. And that's not the impression I'm hoping to achieve.

Cheryl - that photo on your site screenshot is so moving, wow. No wonder you are such an esteemed photographer! I like your website, it's very professional and high-end.

I don't know the technical term for making a font look 3-d. Can you all look at stevemccurry.com and look at how that page looks 3-d with shading? I can't explain how it's done, but I like that very clean text/font with the rugged look to it. That's a site that I really admire.

I did a 3d effect...it can be applied to all ...but I thought you wanted it simple.

I really like entry 9208, the top one, and here's my CHALLENGE to all of you--can you take something like that (without the brackets) and somehow give it a rugged treatment? I'm not sure how to communicate this, but I want the name to be elegant, as that is, and yet look somewhat worn or antiqued or nuanced with time, somehow. If you want to try some similar fonts, I think I'd like the capital letters of CDM to be slightly larger, but I also am trying for something unique added to the name. If that doesn't make sense or you need more clarification, please let me know. I'm trying my best to put into words what I myself only have a sense of. Thank you for your creativity. All of you.

I understood the last direction to be a "dimentional look", which I responded to, now it's an "aged" look??? gozzi

Like I said, I'm having a tough time describing what I want. I'm sorry if this is frustrating for you. Believe me, I'm struggling with it too. And part of it, is that I'm exploring. So bear with me... I think you have all been wonderful about taking my suggestions and giving me options. I'm still thinking...Again, my inspiration is stevemccurry.com's website--even though his name is not "antiqued," the overall site has a worn, 3-d, aged look. I'd like a hint of it in my name/logo. I just can't explain how one would do that.
