Well, it's kind of funny that the winning design is sort of a double logo.. I said tv program, not bank. Nevertheless this spiral is exaclty the same as the "Kabel 1" logo, and I can't believe this is just a coincidence. Ah and I am not a professor, thanks though :)

Yes I have studied the Kabel 1 logo and agree that it is an exact match. I am sure it is a coincidence, however I do not think we can use the chosen logo as we hope to market in Europe and definitely do not want people pointing fingers at us or bringing this to our attention which would make us look pretty foolish. I only found out about this after choosing the winner and am now wondering how I could reverse the choice. Any advice on this?

I am very upset to see this and this happens here. I wont call them good designers who pick other logos and remix them and win. Logo is not only you achive shapes. Orignlity is somthing key factor when considering a winner. You should chose the logo that is simple and orignally came from a designers's own mind. Al though it is imporatant for a designer to look at closest logos relating to your industry. The colors, the layout fonts etc. But as for as shape is concern it must be orignally born form a designer's mind. There were some much better logos there you should have chosen. Now, You may ask the problem to hatchwise team. Contact them and ask them to refund your amount and ban that designer.

Time to wake up. A spiral is a basic design element. That's why Illustrator has a spiral tool. If you look around here you will see hundreds of designs full of clip art that is not just a fundamental design tool. Get off your high horse, Arteko.

I accept Harbor's explanation and he has redesigned the logo to my satisfaction so I think we can put this topic to sleep. I hope we did not hurt anyone's feelings, no insult meant.

Although I do not believe that this was a conincidence, the only thing that counts is that you have a logo which you like and which doesn't contain any logos, symbols or whatever which are already in use - and I guess that is what you achieved :)
