Describe your company and organization and target audience

I offer editing, book publishing, and promotional services for independent authors, mostly of fiction. I specialize in science fiction and fantasy but work in almost every genre. Fiction authors are my primary target audience, so novels and short stories.

The design should have the following

—Design needs to stand out on a DARK background.
—Both a graphical icon and the text.
—I need something I can easily swap around to be in one line (for horizontal banners) or with the two words stacked on top of each other (for square/rectangle usage).
—Something easily recognizable at large or small sizes.
—Professional, modern feel.
—Modern, clean font. For example, I do not want to use a standard font that has been used since the 90s.

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)

This design should not have this in the entries

—Please no script fonts. I want clean, modern, and easy to read.
—Keep in mind I do not do ANY editing with pen and paper, so I don't think that would accurately represent what I do in a technical sense, and it may look antiquated.
—NO raw effects, like scratched metal or rugged fonts.
—No cutesy designs, please.
—Please do not incorporate any elements that do not relate to fiction, writing, or books somehow. For example, I do NOT edit things like academia, grants, science, blogs, etc.
—NO pencils, feathers, or fountain pens. I would like this to look modern.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

Logo must stick to the color duo I currently use: pink and light blue (e2437b and 00aeef) OR something very close.
