Thanks for all of the entry's thus far. As a helpful reminder, you might want to visit the recommended websites I listed above. Their logos should give you a very good idea as to what I'm looking for. Also, if it's easier to use the title Jamel's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy give it a try.

Thank you for the various logo concepts. I'm not really liking the japanese script in the logos. Also since jiu-jitsu is a grappling/wrestling style martial art, i really don't like any image that gives the impression of karate, boxing or a striking art. As for the fox image, I'm looking for someone to create a fox in a brazilian jiu-jitsu uniform wearing a black belt standing with his hands folded or in a combat grappling stance.I hope this helps.
