The Hoosier Hardwood Expo is a brand new event coming in 2021. Its purpose is to celebrate the hardwood (timber / forrestry) industry in the state of Indiana (hence Hoosier - our state's nickname).

This unique celebration of Indiana’s largest agricultural industry will feature something for everyone, including state-of-the-art heavy machinery, sawmill equipment, chainsaw artists, woodworkers, live lumberjack competitions and equipment demonstrations!

We are targeting men / families with kids interesting in learning more about the industry and / or are interested in the many lumberjack style competitions, demos and entertainment we'll be showcasing. Our hope is that many people will purchase tickets to this exciting new event!

The design should have the following

We are primarily looking for a character illustration that we'd like to serve as the "mascot" for the show. We want to see an illustrated Woodchuck (also known as a Groundhog) who is dressed like a lumberjack. Perhaps with either a flannel shirt or a bright orange safety vest and helmet. We plan to name the Woodchuck "Chuck" so bonus points if you can work his name into his belt or somewhere within the design. But including his name in the design is not necessary. The woodchuck could be holding an axe or chainsaw or standing near a fallen tree / tree stump but those are all just thought starters. We're looking for creative ideas and will make comments to guide the design as more options start to come in.
If you wish to include the name of the event Hoosier Hardwood Expo in the design, great. But again we care more about the character illustration.

This logo will be used for

• Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
• Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
• Television/screen

Colors to use in the design

We're open to color ideas, but we'd like to see the Woodchuck wearing either... an orange safety helmet / vest OR a traditional red / black flannel shirt.
