We just wanted to let everyone know that we will be posting feedback daily around 5pm eastern time, except on the weekend. Thanks for all your work so far!

A few general comments for everyone: * please emphasize Library rather than Harvard. * if playing with the acronym, please use HLSL * please avoid academic regalia and legal items (gavels, scales, etc) in any style * Text should be balanced with or larger than icons/images * We'd also definitely like to stay away from buildings and columns

A few more comments after the latest review: * large H focused designs aren't working for us. * although we like the idea of getting away from the Harvard crimson color in theory, in practice we realize that other colors just make us think of other schools * Avoid photo realistic elements * Please try to go in other directions than the ones that first come to mind when you think Harvard--we don't want to go collegiate or conservative in style

As we get down to the last few days of the contest, please re-read the design brief. We're starting to see some things we have specifically vetoed for our logo--AVOID web 2.0-style gradients and reflections and the HLS shield; gavels, scales, and other legal cliches; caps/mortarboards, feathers, flames, ivy and other academic cliches. Also stay away from columns, buildings, and architectural elements. Although we said we were open to abstract books, we have found that we would like to stay away from books and pages as well. The designs that we like most seem to be those that play with the HLSL letters. For colors, use crimson rather than red. Stay away from single or double color combinations because they remind us of other schools. Please play with shades of grey and multiple color sets.
