Ok. Great.
Yes, the image file will be transparent. You will not need to worry about the white background being carried over.
Clearly this is becoming overly complicated and utterly confused. All I want to know is will the image file feature a transparent and semi-translucent (drop shadow gradient)background so that the layer beneath the image can be seen where the interior white space of the image is now? I do not want to have to recolor the white space on the image, ever. I simply want to plug it in and have the picture, background or pattern below carry through. Here's a few examples of what I'm asking for specifically: http://www.uwec.edu/help/photoshopcs3/transpimgs.htm http://forums.adobe.com/thread/432717 http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/photoshop/transparent/gradient.html
It is hard to give you an honest answer, since I do not have the photos that you will want the logo on. The photos you will not have to worry about, it is the drop shadow that may need a little tweaking when placed on the photo.
Ok. So the question I still have is how will this image impact a picture/photo if it's set in the layer above? If I have to play with the image every time I attempt to incorporate it into a piece I'm not going to be happy. If there's no way to clear this issue up, can you create a version with the drop shadow for me to use in those instances?
You can kind of see what I am talking about with entry #602644. The drop shadow shows the full letters with the reflection because of the background color.
There will be no white space within the borders. The only thing that might cause a problem is the color of the backgrounds and the drop shadow color. For instance the logo above has gradient for the drop shadow from black to white/grey. If you put this on a dark blue the whole drop shadow will show up and you will see all the letters. So what would need to happen is the drop shadow toward the bottom would have to be changed a color similar to its background. Not sure if that made sense but it would be something I could play with if you decide to use this logo. I am willing to help you out with the images and the logo.
My apologies for not framing my question well. The question I'm seeking an answer to is will there be "fuzz" or something else covering the space that should be transparent -- such as around the drop-shadow/reflection? In other words, if I place this image atop of a photo, will the "white-space" within the borders of the logo be transparent and allow the the image/color from the layer below to carry through? I want to be sure the white space of the image will truly be transparent so I don't have to re-color the "empty space" each time I want to use the image.
Do you have any colors in mind for backgrounds? Because depending on the color I will have to change the drop shadow color.
Great. Thanks. How will the reflection effect look on different color backgrounds?
