Thank you all for submitting entries! So far, many of the ones I like best are the ones with the bees with faces. The cuter the face, the better. The concept of the black and yellow battery is an interesting one which I will discuss with my partner. The shade of green that we like best is that pretty, vibrant grass green shades in some of the logos. BTW, ALL LOGOS MUST BE GIVEN IN VECTOR FORMAT. IF YOU CAN NOT PROVIDE THE LOGO IN VECTOR, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR ENTRY. Thansk again for the entries! I will be checking back soon.

We're still very interested in seeing more entries. White backgrounds would probably work best with our website. It'd be great if we could see the idea of green houses incorporates into more logo. Looking forward to seeing what folks come up with!

Although other entries were interesting I didn't see "logo design" as much as "digital art" or "character design" taking place. As a company looking to "brand" themselves in the market place I felt it was important that I provide you with an actual logo design in my submission. Professional logos should always be clean, scalable, memorable, reduce well, work in black and white as well as color, be visually balanced and work across all mediums. If you look at the submissions from this perspective, the majority of them do not constitute actual "logo's" so much as artwork.

@robertoblake I would ask that you please refer to the first comment here stating by the contest holder: "Thank you all for submitting entries! So far, many of the ones I like best are the ones with the bees with faces. The cuter the face, the better." The design will be crafted according to the contest holder's preferences.

If you're being defensive I understand that you may have mistaken what I said as snide or condescending, and that's fine though it wasn't meant that way. Do you homework, and really look into what a logo is. Then look at established brands and the most recognized logo's you've seen. It is in part the job of a designer to understand these things and act in the long term interest of the client. Its fine for a client to praise a work, or have a concept or "want what they want". However to some extent it is the responsibility of the designer to be clear in giving the client what they "need". As to who I am, I am an experienced designer, who has worked as a designer full time, and has been formally educated. Therefore I know what an actual logo is and is not, where as in reality a client may or may not always have that check list, an designer SHOULD. There are several great articles you can read to this effect on justcreativedesign.com

Also I'd like to point out to this effect that Naropoda has a good idea and concept that balances what the client is looking for with a good sense of design practices. Kudos.

Thanks robertoblake Also I think that a top quality logo design should be simple, clear and most of all eye catching.

robertoblake, this is not the format for giving logo design instructions. Some of us have been formally educated as well, in the finest art schools in NYC and have been designing professionally for OVER 30 years (probably longer than you are old) and have learned that although what you say is perfectly correct, in reality, learned from the school of hard knocks, the client knows what he/she wants and that is what you give, then, after that you can take it to the next step on more of your own terms and MAYBE the client will like THAT. The task is to give the client what they specifically ask for while doing it in a clean and aestetically pleasing finished product, and that is not always as easy a task as just doing what you think looks best.

Thanks again for all your submissions. We've changed the contest so the $200 is prepaid. Hopefully, that will encourage folks to keep the strong designs coming.

Oh I don't disagree that this is not the format for logo design instruction, and I'm certainly not the "authority" on it by any means. Someone asked a question that I took as pointed remark with regard to what qualifies me to give "constructive" criticism. I felt compelled to answer them. It is and will forever be a point of argument in design world where the shifting scale lies between what you were asked to do, what you can do and what you should do. In my less than thirty years I have learned from the school of hard knocks where I stand on that shifting scale. Ultimately every designers goal is to please the client, and on that regardless of what bridge we take to get there, I think we can all agree on.

Thanks, robertoblake, for your comments. you make very valid points, especially about the logo looking good in black & white as well as color. It reminded me of the value of having a black & white logo for my other business for the times I cannot print in color.

It is unfortunate that the contest holder lead us all to believe that he/she wants an actual bee as part of the logo. To quote the instruction, "A happy bee flying over a skyline of green-colored houses and buildings. THE CUTER THE FACE, THE BETER".

yeah so right..... and look who has won...where's the bee??

The winner sure doesn't fit that description. This is not the first time and it won't be the last time designers are lead down the wrong road and waste a lot of time and hard work to no avail, just to find something that doesn't follow directions wins.

Thank you all for your hard work. The vision we had for our logo evolved as we saw the variety of submissions that were made. We made clear in our instructions that we were open to ideas. The winner received a 4 rating very early on in the process. That logo was considered against other frontrunners that were more in line with our original vision. We were drawn in by the originality of the design. We wish there could be multiple winners but we could only choose one. We wish you all the best in your careers.

In addition, the winner also created other versions of the logo featuring a bee. Those of us who aren't as fortunate to be as artistic as you all, we think we know what we want until we see a design that strikes us, even if it is slightly different than the instructions.

My dear, I was in second place. I'm not complaining about anything. Can we look forward to, please? The client really guided us in a way but forward a proposal which he thought could not exist, change also solved. I hope he has to be happy and lucky in your business. A big hug to all, adahis PS- Please, excuse me from some english errors
