Describe your company and organization and target audience
We're looking for a logo for our Cabinet shop. It is one of the oldest in the greater Portland area.
Our cabinets are high end and up to this point we have served a pretty small clientele of wealthy homeowners who want the very best product.
We're currently expanding and want the logo to communicate old school quality with modern design ability.
I've attached some sketches and pictures of logos that we like.
The design should have the following
We're open to some variation, but here are some elements we'd like to see incorporated into the design (please see sketches).
1. We like the idea of incorporating a walnut tree into the design (see third sketch down where we started to sketch the base of a tree.
2. We also want to see an option where the Belly Band of the logo has a saw blade incorporated into it. (see lower sketch). We know that this might make it look cheesy, but we wanted to see if anyone could make it look good.
3. We also want to see a more simplistic design like the top sketch.
PLEASE FEE FREE TO BE CREATIVE. We're only trying to provide some ideas of what we like as a starting place for you.
4. Needs to have "est. 1967" in the logo
5. Please don't get too fancy.
6. For the belly band (see sketches), we'd like to see an option where the edges of the belly band look like the raw edge of pre-milled lumber.
Note: We're going to create a sign for the front of our building that is built from wood. So keep that in mind when design.
A feel that we're going for is: Old school quality with modern ability.
This logo will be used for
- Online (Website, facebook etc.)
- Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
- Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
This design should not have this in the entries
Colors to use in the design
We're looking for more muted colors. You might want to look up some high end cabinet work for color inspirations. We want to hang the logo on the front of our building actually cut out from wood, so colors need to complement that design goal.
