Describe your company and organization and target audience

ACPSA is an acronym for Ancient City Practical Shooting Association. We are affiliated with the United States Practical Shooting Association which is the governing body over pistol shooting competition in the U.S. Our club is based out of St. Augustine, FL and hosts a shooting competition once a month for shooters of all ages. The goal of our club is to provide a safe environment for people to practice and enhance their marksmanship skills while having fun at the same time.
Each competition consists of anywhere from 5 to 7 scenarios where each shooter is presented with the same courses of fire. Each stage, as we call them, has an average of 10 to 15 targets. These targets have point values assigned to different parts of the target similar to a dart board. The competition aspect comes into play as the goal of each scenario is to score the most amount of points in the least amount of time as possible. Speed, as well as accuracy, is the name of the game in our sport. We would like the logo to represent that.

The design should have the following

With us being in Florida. Mosquitos are a constant issue so we had an idea of possibly a very strong angry mosquito holding/shooting a gun similar to one of our competition guns. Images of these types of guns can be seen by searching for USPSA Limited or Open guns on the internet.

Another possible idea was that the state of Florida resembles a gun and possibly using to outline of the state to resemble the type of gun described in the previous paragraph.

There are literally thousands of USPSA clubs all over the country, almost all have some type of logo. Inspiration could be possibly found in other logos as all are somewhat conveying the same message of speed and accuracy while shooting.
