The New Orleans Saints logo is instantly recognizable. It’s modest, chic, and unique! The logo is a French symbol that has been around since the early 17th century.
It’s called “le fleur de lis,” and it simply means “lily flower” in English! The simple but striking design also represents the New Orleans city’s history with France and other European nations.
The original badge unveiled in 1967 was black & white and has changed little ever since. The simple yet elegant black and white mark is a reminder of the fan’s loyalty.
One of the reasons we wanted to showcase this contest, in particular, was because it’s a great example of how designers can take a simple concept (in this case, a buffalo), and come up with a crazy amount of different visual ideas for it.
The logo is for a parcel of real estate located in Texas called Eighteen25 Ranch. They wanted the logo to represent their property, which dates back to the year 1825. Some specific elements they requested were:
We see a lot of contests run by clients here at Hatchwise but this one had us curious and stood out more than the others. Logo design contests are always fascinating since we love to see the different designs that are submitted to the contests, specifically the ending result that the client receives. Whether you’re a fan of art or not, there’s no denying that everyone appreciates a fine logo that represents a business and helps to build its personality.
