New York, also known as "The Big Apple" is famous for its many well-known shops, especially in NYC.

Here we have a collection of some of the better-known logos that are the face of businesses located in the state of New York.

Calvin Klein

Plenty of famous fashion brands started on the streets of the Big Apple, but one of the most internationally recognized labels must be Calvin Klein. Founded in 1968, Calvin Klein is known for a relatively minimalist approach to clothing and design, favoring black, white, silver, and navy colors instead of other bright ones.

The Calvin Klein logo typically features a large C and K as its central focus in a simple, modern font. The name Calvin Klein is usually included in a matching typeface at the bottom of the logo. The C and K are never interlocked, and the K is made more prominent. The simple black and white color matches the style of clothing.

IBM

International Business Machines Corporation, or simply IBM or ‘Big Blue,’ is arguably the largest multinational technology company in the world. Much of the technological innovation we take for granted is due to their research and development, and IBM’s reach so far is in 175 countries. The company was founded in 1911 in Endicott, NY, and its current headquarters is in Armonk, NY.

Since 1972, IBM has had the same iconic logo. It was created by Paul Rand and features a set of simple, large blue letters with white lines running through the letters. The logo is reminiscent of a computer screen of years past, and many people say that it reminds them of an image loading.

Verizon

With its headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, Verizon is a multinational telecommunications colossus. It is the second-largest wireless carrier in the nation, providing services to over 140 million Americans. The Verizon name is on many buildings, stadiums, and other arenas up and down the United States and was once the famous Bell Atlantic company.

Verizon is a portmanteau of the Latin word ‘veritas,’ meaning truth, and the word horizons. The company’s vision is to provide reliable service to its customers while constantly seeking opportunities for innovation. The current iteration of the logo has been consistent since 2015 and features a lower-case black typeface of the name and a large red checkmark at the end of the word. Before 2015, the logo featured more red detail, especially with the letter Z, which was in a blazing style, implying the speediness of Verizon’s service.

Chase Bank

Chase Bank is a name many New Yorkers see multiple times per day. This giant national bank (part of the United States’ Big Four banks) was headquartered in the Big Apple since it was called The Bank of the Manhattan Company in 1799. In 1955, it merged with the Chase National Bank, which itself was founded in 1877. Other mergers occurred, but today, it falls under the parent company name of JP Morgan Chase.

The current logo features a unique font and an interlaced squared blue circle. This icon has been included in the logo in various versions since 1961 and likely represents the globe. Today’s version of the Chase logo has remained unchanged since 2005.
