Mookie’s is an Authentic New York Deli. Our food is made at the restaurant from fresh high quality ingredients. We cure our Corned Beef and Pastrami. We make our own baked goods. Black and white cookies, knishes, everything is made from scratch.
In addition to being the family dog Mookie is a New York name. Mookie Wilson was a long time NY Met. Morris “Mookie” Blackman was the character Spike Lee played in Do the Right Thing.
Our concept and brand should enable southerners to experience for the first time a 14 ounce, piled high, hand slice corned beef and pastrami as well as the large population of “Yankees” that have moved to North Carolina.
