Showed some of the submissions to the Exec. Director of my local area marketing organization and here's the response: I think you can still get better ones, with more personality. The BGR all need to be readable, and having Balfour bigger than Golf and Recreation is a nice touch for easy readability. Does the BGR have to be Serif Font? That style is dated. A fresher font would be helpful in creating the personality and identity. ALSO so important is the ability to use this small, and if needed one colour, or black and shade of black. I'd like to see the criteria you sent them. This will help me determine if they are meeting the design requirements, or not. And also things may need to change there to get more "designy" logos. rather than suggesting a font type, use words that describe BGR - professional, sports, outdoors, adventure, athletic, inviting.

rather than suggesting a font type, use words that describe BGR - professional, sports, outdoors, adventure, athletic, inviting. no colour gradients because they are hard to reproduce in one colour. I would suggest the bird isn't incorporated into the design, but supports and is part of the logo. The incorporating aspect into the words is what is making it difficult to read the words and BGR.
