Hello artists, please check the "Revised Design Brief" file attached to the old design brief. I've changed direction and have been trying to get Hatchwise to delete my first brief, but they haven't done it yet.

Very original and interesting designs but so many artists did not see or read the revised design brief attachment. I wish I could get Hatchwise support to update the design brief pate. I may have to award the closest design and run another contest to refine.

HEY DESIGNERS, I'm so grateful for all of the crazy creative designs you've submitted and apologize for the struggles I've had refining my vision. Wish I could work with you all face to face. Here's my final requests: 1) IMAGES: No flowers, mandalas, lotuses, stars or small symbols. AVOID small or delicate images, fonts or lines that can't be reduced for cards or social media. 2) ZEN BRUSH STROKE Use a powerful, dynamic brush stroke similar to #2817760. AVOID static symmetrical brush strokes like #2820570. 3) FONTS: Make the TH in 5th lower case. Make COACHING larger font than 5th ELEMENT. Try side font positioning like #2815764. NO fonts inside the brush stroke please. 4) COLORS: Stick with blue, cyan and black, or possibly shades of purple/lavender pink and gold. Thank you so much. Susan

HI DESIGNERS, You are all so TALENTED. And patient. After seeing my ideas produced, I notice problems with things I imagined would work. Here are the latest upgrades: 1. COLORS: Use a cyan-blue-indigo combo (32820929, #2881649). No gold. Black fonts are okay. 2. FONT GRADATION: I like the top to bottom gradation in 5th ELEMENT (#2830626). You could also try gradating 5th and keeping ELEMENT solid (#2831034). Not sure about that. 3. FONTS/FONT SPACING: Now you know why I'm not a designer, LOL. Forget the upper-lowercase idea for 5TH ELEMENT. MY BAD! Make 5 and ELEMENT upper case and"TH" a superscript ordinal (#2830340 and #2831034). That will make better spacing. Forget making all 3 lines a block, as the tag line becomes too small to reduce. Align 5th ELEMENT and COACHING with the tag line centered to the whole design (#2830626). 4. SYMBOL STYLE: I'm stuck! I want something fluid, not static , messy or blobby. Think ZEN. 5. SYMBOL GRADATION: Great job on #2831649, #2820929, #2830626.

Hey Designers, Less than one day left and so many great submissions. Here are my latest refinements, based on your submissions: My decision comes down to the impact and appeal of the icon, as fonts and colors can be adjusted. 1. Make TH uppercase, smaller and aligned with 5 and E, as in #2832342. 2. Gradate 5TH ELEMENT, as with #2832362, 3. Use 2 lines, aligned in a block as in #2832306 or #2832210 OR 3 lines with the tag line underneath (#2832175) 3. COLORS: NO purples please. Use a warmer, bluer gradient (#2832351) 4. ICON: Check out my 4 and 5-star entries. I'm looking for unique, dynamic brush strokes or spirals, not just colorized vector stock images.

Please choose images, colors and fonts I haven't thought about. Also, as much as I love waves, I received feedback that images that were too water-like only represent one element. And please don't try to represent all of the other elements, as the images get too busy. I'll comment as we go. Thanks for you patience. :)

I've brought back some of the spiral designs. Search the following terms for images on the Fifth Element, also known as: ether and ether in many traditions, including Ayurveda, Buddhism and Shamanism. Here's a better definition: Referred to as 'akasha' in Sanskrit, ether is the element that comes first in yogic and Ayurvedic thinking. Ether is without the firmness of earth, the coolness of water, the heat of fire or even the movement of wind. It is therefore the very essence of 'emptiness'. The space element is the most subtle of all elements.

More on the 5th Element: While the existence of this mystical fifth element has never been found by scientists, we still use Greek God Aether’s name in common language. Particularly when referring to the upper regions of the sky, beyond clouds, and beyond the regions where humans can breathe. Another word that keeps the god Aether’s memory alive in English is “ethereal.” This is used when describing something that is extremely fine, delicate, light, and airy, and almost too perfect for this physical, human world we live in.

DESIGN NOTES UPDATE: Thanks for the new designs! As I share them with colleagues, the main feedback I'm getting is to ADD warm red, orange or yellow contrast color(s) somewhere, as in the following designs: 2841069 (Jart), 2837120 (bigboss), 2840561 (fije) and 2812881 (Marsell). The blue tones are "too cool," as much as I personally like them. Keep up the great work!

TOO DETAILED TO REDUCE? My web designer pointed out that certain designs, while clear at a certain size, are so detailed they may not reduce well for social media (like a detailed maze or labyrinth). Also they ask me to consider what the image will look like in grayscale.
