<p>Our audience for this logo is the membership of the Lambda Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., an organization dedicated to fostering brotherhood, scholarship, and community impact among Black/African American students and professionals. Established on February 26, 1983, the Lambda Nu Chapter represents members from Stanford and Santa Clara University, embodying a long-standing commitment to excellence and unity.</p><p>Founded on January 5, 1911, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is a prominent Black Greek-letter fraternity that emerged to provide African American students a supportive community amidst exclusionary practices on campus. With over 700 chapters worldwide and a membership exceeding 150,000, Kappa Alpha Psi is a well-recognized institution.</p><p><strong>Design Elements &amp; Symbolism:</strong></p><p>The logo should have a clean, polished, and upscale look. Key elements to consider include:</p><ul><li>Colors: Red and white (or crimson and cream)</li><li>The fraternity’s initials: KAΨ</li><li>Symbolic references, such as scrolls (like those used for the coat of arms, featuring ΦVΠ), the “OKAY” hand gesture, and red-and-white striped canes</li><li>A unique, distinguishable design that stands out from other chapter logos</li></ul>

The design should have the following

<p>First, the chapter membership is looking for a logo that thoughtfully incorporates key elements from both Stanford and Santa Clara universities, reflecting our chapter’s unique identity. We’d like to see specific campus landmarks, such as the Stanford Mausoleum and Santa Clara’s prominent Bronco statue, represented in the logo to symbolize each institution’s legacy and culture.</p><p>The logo should ideally feature the official logos of both universities, similar to our current design (attached), along with traditional Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity symbols like the canes, coat of arms, and scroll. Additionally, including the chapter's founding year would add a meaningful historical touch. We would like the chapter slogan to to be included as well.&nbsp;</p><p>These elements are provided as creative inspiration, and it’s not essential to incorporate every suggestion—designers are encouraged to take liberties with composition and style. We envision this logo being versatile enough to look sharp on various chapter merchandise like t-shirts, jerseys, and lapel pins. For further context, refer to the “Describe your company and organization and target audience” section of the design brief. We have also include several chapter logos and the Coat of Arms so you have an idea of the kind of logo we want produce. We would prefer the chapter logo in the shape of the circle or a diamond (see pictures attached).&nbsp;</p>
