Cardinalis cardinalis is the Latin nomenclature for a northern cardinal, a very common bird around the area. The cardinal is a bird species in which the male bird is noticeably more distinctive. Cardinalis Cardinalis is a men’s boutique store. We will sell men’s needs — gifts, supplies, grooming, accessories, journals, etc. The target audience is men and the people in their lives who shop for them.

The design should have the following

I _think_ I’m looking for a circle design. However I am open to other options. I’d like a stylized northern cardinal that can be either modern or classic. However it should not evoke any teams or mascots. I’d like a generally simple design that includes Cardinalis^2 (the exponent, squared), Chicago, and the aforementioned cardinal — probably sideways so it’s recognizable. But I definitely don’t want a detailed drawing of a cardinal. I need something that will easily change colors from black to white to red depending on the circumstances. Something that can be easily put on anything from a coffee mug to a t-shirt to a window. I definitely want something orignal though. This is for a retail business. I’d like simple but obvious, and not clip-art looking.
