<p>Backbone Energy Engineering provides independent technical advisory and early-stage design services that give public entities and community organizations the engineering foundation to procure utility-scale solar and storage with confidence — helping build the clean energy infrastructure that powers a more resilient and sustainable future.</p><p>We are an engineering consulting firm focused on creating early stage momentum to build utility-scale solar&nbsp;serving municipalities, rural communities, and public agencies across Colorado, Wyoming, and beyond.</p>

The design should have the following

<p>The name Backbone came from a need to represent a strong technical foundation and structure to what can be a very complex road for public entities to achieve their renewable energy goals. The logo should certainly reflect the structure and engineering nature of the brand, but it needs a certain softened approach opposed to the rigid geometry of an utility transmission tower. A driving focus of our efforts will be to preserve or strengthen ecosystems instead of blanketing large swaths of land for the sake of energy production alone. Imagine a large solar farm, rows and rows of slate blue parallel edges juxtaposed with vibrant pollinator wildflowers or unmaintained prairie grasses nearly engulfing the solar.</p><p>The BEE acronym from Backbone Energy Engineering is a happy accident. Bees are universally recognized for their vital importance in many ecosystems. The honey comb is perhaps natures most elegant structure. Personally, I find sacred geometry fascinating and I tend to work complex geometry into my designs whenever possible. Hexagons have a balanced feeling that's easy to see. My work needs to build towards harmony or else I will live with regrets. The brand should reflect that if at all possible.</p><p>I have a concept attached below. I don't love it, but it has some interesting elements to someone like me whose design experience leans more towards the engineering end of the spectrum than artistry. I kind of like the gold gradients because it has an almost crystalline look like you'd get from a photovoltaic solar cell, but I'm not sure how having so many colors complicates branding. I like the comb structure, as I described above, and I think the asymmetry is ok. It implies an unfinished, or just started structure, but I am not married to this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I like the color of rabbitbrush blooms in September in Colorado. It is closest to hex #d4a017</p><p>Complimentary colors and contrasting color recommendations are welcomed. I am currently using deep slate&nbsp;#1C2B39 on my web page build.</p>
