Taking Action is a lecture series dedicated to fostering conversation, sharing research, and empowering the Boulder, CO community to increase mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. We will host 1-3 experts on topics relevant to health and wellness every couple of months. These experts will share relevant research and knowledge about these topics, and also facilitate discussion and answer questions. We would like to provide a context for the community to learn about and discuss these important issues that affect their daughters, mothers, friends, and peers. Our intended audience gathering for women and men of all ages interested in topics relevant to women's mental health and wellness--topics relevant to the daily lives of women they care about (mothers, daughters, wives, partners, friends, etc.). Descriptors of the look and feel we wish to convey in public materials include: VITALITY, INVIGORATING, inspiring, engaging, smart but not intimidating, inclusive, community. We will be hosting national experts on: increasing healthy body image and preventing eating disorders, the role and importance of sleep, emotions and the mind, sex and sexuality.
