The Tolerance Education Program, a new nonprofit organization, is dedicated to educating the minds and hearts of participating students and educators about the importance of civil discourse in learning about and discussing provocative issues. Its objective is to encourage students to adopt tolerance, the cornerstone of Democracy, as the cornerstone in their own value systems. In so doing, The Tolerance Education Program hopes to combat and stem the tide of bigotry that breeds hate crimes based on race, religion, ethnic heritage, and sexual orientation.
Currently, our focus is Holocaust and Genocide Education, and our primary audience and partners are teachers and students in middle and senior high schools. Our secondary clients are college and university professors of Holocaust Education who are preparing the future Holocaust/Genocide teachers in middle and senior high schools.
