I don't think skulls are going to work for us. The rifle I mentioned is a piece of equipment that is spun and tossed in the color guard. While I love what Digiti did, the military look probably won't work for us.

Good variety so far, but surprised I don't have anything with a TShirt theme yet.

No offense, but personally I think a t-shirt theme would be really cheesy - especially for high school kids. :) I'm sure someone else would love to give it a shot though.

There's one thing you have to think about when designing a brand logo and that's the future, if you only design for one purpose then your not thinking about the future, it's about starting small and growing large, so a logo should be able to be use on all types of products not just t-shirts.

I understand that the label may grow into more, but a shirt would represent a clothing label. I'm mainly looking for a variety to put up for the panel to decide between.

If thats what you think, then good luck, I'm a Fashion Design with 20 years in the industry,a t-shirt is a shirt and it does not represent a clothing label or line unless there are other products of clothing involved, as I said before good luck on your project, because your brand name is wonderful and there is so much more you can do with that name other than with the school, take it to the next level.

I don't think the contest holder will be using the shirts 'just' for high school kids - that was merely the target audience. And, even though I don't like the idea of putting a t-shirt in the logo (just like I wouldn't expect Levi's to put a pair of jeans in theirs), the contest holder is entitled to their own views and requests - it's their contest! Lamarwatts is right though, Renegade Threads is a wicked name! :)

Yes they are entitled to their own views and request, thats why I wished them luck on their project, but I'm also here to share my views which is not being out of line, it's all about helping each other reach the next level and not focus on one level, the dictionary defines the name as: An outlaw; a rebel, so the name choice is awesome, good luck on your project, I will be watching to see who you choose.

We started this little company to facilitate fundraising for our school, but when we decided we had to take it to the next level as its own stand alone company we began to search for web addresses that would fit our company. I watched for the .com to come up for renewal and grabbed it up. Its been a long process and things are already growing better than I could have planned, but at least for the next few years we have a niche market that we want to focus on first. If it grows beyond that I'm not going to complain, but we need to be sure that our brand reflects an image that teenage kids like and parents aren't offended by. I appreciate the advice and if the TShirt logo is a lame idea, then I can live without it. Its just a suggestion by one of the people that will be involved in choosing the logo and I thought I'd mention it.

I agree with you 100% and support your success in making it to the next level.

That is really cool! This actually helps put the design in better contest. Now I can see why you didn't go for Digiti Minimi's machine gun....

The Renegade actually has a different angle behind it. While I'm sure I qualify as a rebel and would love to have an excuse to have a few cycles as a key part of our business someday, the group we work with most is called the Renegade Regiment. They are a national competition marching band & winter guard from a local school who's mascot name is the Redskins (as in Native American Indians). While the school has had many challenges because of the mascot being an Indian, we have overcome them all and are proud of our heritage and don't see it as a politically incorrect thing. I'm actually a small part Cherokee Indian myself and come from a family full of Indian heritage not that you could tell by looking at me. That being said, the logo itself is wide open to creative ideas because I see the potential for the business to grow into a larger audience someday. I wasn't really sure about outsourcing the logo creation, but I'm really impressed by the work you guys have done and hope to see lots more creativity over the next week. Thanks again for your awesome efforts.

Would really like to see some more with an Native American Indian theme since we lost those entries with the Indian and Horse. I also liked the buffalo skull, maybe you skull guys can do some more creative ones with non-human skulls.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great entries! At the end of the contest, I'm going to present the entries to a panel of eight (4 adults & 4 teenagers) to each pick their top three favorites and they will be awarded a score from 1 to 3. I'll add up the scores and take the top three and the winner will be selected from those.

Wow! The results proved to me that I don't have any idea what people like. I would have picked 9678 or 10500 if it were up to me and the firearms weren't an issue with the school. I was so surprised by the the results of my panel that I expanded the polling to more people and while most designs got votes, there were three that were clearly tied for the top spots not only by the panel, but by everyone. They were entries 9655, 9928, & 10484. Entries 9736, 10038, 10407, 10466 10498, 10524 deserve honorable mention as they were all highly voted for. Even after further review, it was clear that I couldn't get a clear consensus by even more voting because there were many good designs and even by narrowing the choices, the designs were equally liked on the whole. So, I finally made my decision by weighting the opinion of my best customers which happened to be in line with my wife's preference as well. Thanks to everyone that took part in this contest.

I just had to comment on this choice, wow I can't believe the logo that was chosen, it is plan with no wow factor, it just goes to show you, how people don't think future but only thing present, well I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for, lol

While I thought your design was a little too plain, it could easily have easily won, but your comments have shown you to not be much of a professional and definitely factored into my decision. Thank you for verifying my choice not to go with you.

As I said to you before the amount you were offering was never my interest, I would have done it for free because $100 ain't no money and couldn't buy me a good pair of shoes, why don't you search 6 months back about a big write about me in Fast Company Magazine and you will see I didn't need your money and never will, my company is well known and well respected, and remember I offered you my services free when you ask if you can work with me in the future, so don't get mad because I spoke the truth.

Lol, I'm not mad that your comments confirmed why I decided not to contact you even if you would work for free (talk about getting what you pay for). I thought I'd point out to you that your lack of professionalism is why we won't be working together. I tell you this in hope that you would open your mind to the fact that its not the truth just because its your opinion. I know that other people see things in different ways than I do and art is in the eye of the beholder. Its great that you love your own work, but its really not going to make you any better by taking cheap shots at other artists.
