It has only been a few hours since I posted this contest but I have to say that already I am favorably impressed by the entries and looking forward to more. I am pleased that I posted here as opposed to 99designs.com.

Here are a few comments to assist designers based on my review of what has been submitted so far: 1. stay away from colored backgrounds 2. be creative with the images you propose, but keep them centered in the logo 3. keep the fonts professional looking, nothing too wild or cartoonish 4. consider how the logo will look on a white business card or piece of stationary 5. take a look at what other organizations in our space are doing both for ideas on what is professional and what to stay away from as being too similar or tired/overused. Go to my blog at http://nutrisuplaw.com and click on the links on the right column down the page to see these other organizations. 6. make sure the design will work not just for nutricompliance but also for nutrisuplaw and nutrisupwiki. 7. be creative and keep up the great submissions!

More great submissions since yesterday, thank you to everyone for participating! At this point, anyone considering submitting needs to review the designs that have been rated a 4 or a 3 before submitting anything. Please try to be different from these 4 and 3 designs. Also, please try and present as professional an appearance as these designs. If you do you will have a much better chance of being considered in a few days when we make a final decision. Thanks!

Also, please read the numbered comments above (sorry for posting twice!) and try to spell the words correctly too.

With 5 days left there are now 6 designers who have submitted designs that we have rated a 4. The quality of all the designs are great but the ones rated 4 are really excellent. If you have a design rated a 4 and you have not done so already, we would appreciate seeing a logo for NutriSupLaw and NutriSupWiki to match the NutriCompliance logo you have provided. In addition, we would like to see a black and white version of the logo so we can get an idea of what it would look like printed off a b/w laser printer on white paper. Thanks again for the great submissions!

Hello! You are smart to ask for Black and White versions. Few remember how important it is. Kudos! A great brand will retain all effectiveness in B&W. (Remember to ask for true B&W and not grayscale.) The best and most memorable brands pass the B&W test (apple, at&t, starbucks, IBM, ...) There are still plenty of vital uses for B&W versions: Fax, copying, corporate checks... Hope you find the perfect design.

BTW, Grayscale is defined as **shades** of gray between (and including) black and white. Anything more than than solid black and solid white is considered grayscale. Example: Quicktime's Logo Guidelines defines color, grayscale AND black and white versions of thier logo. Notice all three are equally effective. Still, there is a distinct difference between, need, and use for each. http://developer.apple.com/softwarelicensing/agreements/pdf/qt_logo_gdeln.pdf Hope this helps.

Yeah, I had realized I uploaded the grayscale version shortly after.. it was late =]. Thanks for making people aware of the difference, there's still time for them to make the adjustments to true black & white versions.

Ditto what Nancy said. FYI: Black and white can be provided for ALL versions as seen in my first entry (didn't provide black and white in the revision to save time).

I like your design a lot xpressions. It's a great design, well executed in black and white, too.
