The GPFC Aboriginal Head Start is offers children from 3-5 years old the opportunity to develop to their potential by learning through play. Our focus is include all families with a First Nations, Metis or Inuit background. Our programming has a cultural base where children learn the Aboriginal culture. The teachings are weaved throughout the program. Daily, the children are exposed to smudging, traditional dancing, drumming and teachings of the seven sacred teachings. We work closely with parents, as they are an important part of the program, and we have many partnerships in the community. We are rated as one of the top Head Start programs in Canada and the only program of it's kind in our area
