The CEFLEX project is a collaboration by c.a. 35 stakeholders from all parts of the flexible packaging value chain to:
• Get consumers to recognize the significant value added by flexible packaging in the circular economy through it’s resource efficient use of materials and by preventing food and packaging waste.
• establish collection, sorting, recycling and other recovery solutions for post-consumer flexible packaging across Europe, based on "end of life" technologies and processes to achieve the best economic, technical and environmental outcome for the circular economy.
Flexible Packaging is used as pouches, sachets, wraps or lids for many applications such as coffee, confectionary, snacks, cheese, yoghurt, soups, pet food but also cosmetics and others. It is made from plastic, paper and aluminium foil or a combination of these. Whilst CEFLEX is a material-neutral project, it will promote the use of flexible packaging.
