The easiest way to have a light grey background would be to select a light grey paper stock from whoever will be your printer. You can match the stock so that the business card, letterhead, envelope, etc. will all coordinate.

Everything is done through elogocontest.com, so if you choose me as winner, I get a notification to upload the art files in all the formats I mentioned earlier and then they will send the files along to you. According to the website, once you select the winner, pay in full, and I then upload the artwork, full ownership of the completed design will be transferred to you.
Paraphrasing from the Terms and Conditions, you can use the completed artwork in any way whatsoever, and the designer retains the rights to display the work in their portfolio and advertising as an example of the work they do (but ownership of the logo will be yours).
Hope this helps. It should be outlined in the agreement that you probably had to agree to when you signed up for this contest. If you want further details, the website has the info accessible. You can also try looking in the FAQ section or sending a PM to the administrator if you have specific questions about the process, they would be able to answer better than me! :)

elogocontest requires artists to give the following to the contest holder should their logo win a contest: The original, layered source file for the winning logo (in this case, it would be .ai) with all fonts converted to shapes, as well as versions of the logo in the following formats: .jpg, .gif, .png, .tiff, eps and .pdf. The PMS colors can be accessed through the Adobe Illustrator file (.ai), but I could list it for you anyway, and yes, I can give you the name of the font used.
I will make the revisions for you tonight.

Can I have it in (ai) format
Can I get the PMs colors
Do I get the two fonts names and styles, because there are so many fonts I want to use those through my website

Here is a possible business card layout. I darkened the green a little bit but you also need to keep in mind a couple of things: First, your monitor may not be displaying the graphics at the exact size I submitted them, and I'm not sure if the dimensions are retained when I upload them to this site. A standard business card is 3.5" x 2" which is how I designed this one, so see what size this prints out for you. Also, and this is a biggy, the resolution quality of graphics taken off the internet are extremely low, only 72 dpi. The printing standard is a minimum of 300 dpi, so the text will appear A LOT crisper when professionally printed, and even with the slim green letters I think it will show up nicely.
Another option (if you are still doubtful of the green tagline) would be to separate the tagline from the main logo and show it elsewhere in the design. In other words, on the business card, letterhead, stationery, etc. show just the graph icon along with the "Art of Cultivation" text. Then in another area show the tagline enlarged. For example, on the business card you could have the logo, the personal/address info, then along the bottom have the tagline... Just another option to consider.
As far as doing stationery for you (should my logo win this contest) we can personally communicate via email after the contest to work out a price and other pertinent details. If you decide to have me design the extra items, you can send payment through PayPal to me and then I would provide you with the needed art files via email and/or CD if you prefer. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Fast. Awesome. Affordable
