The design should have the following:

I am envisioning a logo that will remain the logo but also maybe a logo that could change with different artists. Kind of like Google. Rotates daily but we all know its google by the shape, size relationships of each letters etc.

I like clean minimalist logos but I think this one needs to be whimsical, fun, adventurous inspirational, maybe even retro like Andy Warhol or surfboard art-ish.
one thing I like...if it can work is to have the 'Y' of Yo be the shaka surfer hand symbol....where the middle 3 fingers are down, leaving the thumb and pinki out???

This logo will be used for:

Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
Online (website, online advertising, banner ads etc.)
Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
Television/screen
