Describe your company and organization and target audience

This is a vintage hotel that we are trying to simplify the branding/logo. The hotel is boutique and 28 guestrooms in 3 buildings, Stables, Carriage House, and Mansion. The Mansion is the oldest building in the city with two bars called the Apothecary and Speakeasy. The Stables and Carriage House are "UrBarn" themed. This is a wedding venue as well as a hotel and we are trying to draw corporate clients for incentive retreats. The Mansion was an anchor for the start of the city it is located in and just two blocks from the lake.

The design should have the following

We like the layout (stacked) of the original logo but it's way to ornate and old rather than a modern vintage style. We are looking for something that we can use as a whole and also be able to have something that is iconic to use just the two M's as a stand alone and be recognizable that it is for Maxwell Mansion.

We like more vintage or handwritten (within reason so it's printable or able to be cut with vinyl) or banner styles.

Flat logo and not 2D

Prefer Solid colors and less gradients that would/could print inconsistently.

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
  • Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

We would like to stay away from more than 1 or 2 colors. Limit to 1 graphic or no graphics, avoid gradients as we will be using this for vinyl cutouts and logos for shirts and stuff.

We would like to remove the 1856 possibly and add the city name Lake Geneva or something like that.

Colors to use in the design

We would like solid black, or black and grey. Simple one or two colors only.
