Anchor and Sail

Describe your company and organization and target audience

Anchor and Sail is a new company that will cater to accessories for men and women in the following areas: Rugged outdoor wear, (hats, shirts, wallets), outdoor equipment (including outdoor kitchen equipment), hiking/trail gear, fishing accessories, Indoor bedding and decor like: pipe smoking accessories (e.g. leather tobacco pouches and jar cellars/cabinets along with rugged nautical decor for tables and shelves (e.g big sea shell lamps). If you are familiar with the ORVIS store...this is the space Anchor and Sail will compete: premium/luxury outdoor/indoor products that provide full function and style.

The design should have the following

I'm open to suggestions but what I have in mind includes both the company full name along with an image. I would like to be able to print just the image on to products of various sizes. If this was a brick and mortar store sign...I would imagine and "awesome picture" with the company name under it or surrounding it. When I walk into this store, I see handmade wallets with that "awesome picture" etched into the leather of the wallet. The image of an anchor and sail or critical but I'm open to interpretation. Again, the focus are on luxury products that deliver above expectations...I don't see a logo of a cartoon pig sailing a boat with an anchor hanging out the back.

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
  • Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

While the logo can be slightly complicated in nature, my biggest concern would be putting this logo on products...so...an image with the company name is ideal as a logo...I would only want to be able to put a single (not too complicated) image on my products.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

Earthy colors like dark green, brown and black with maybe accents of blue and or white to highlight a nautical nature.
