Describe your company and organization and target audience
I am an Independent Investment Advisor, which puts me in the minority as a woman. My non-scientific research shows that within 155 miles, only approx. 16% of women hold this role. Approx. 15% of RIA firms have a woman owner or partner. As a complement and additional service for clients, I’m also a Certified Retirement Counselor. There are only 96 CRCs in all of NYS, and I am one of the 18% that are women. I want to attract women, while also not deterring men.
I am a small company and intend to stay small so I always know my clients’ personal situations and needs. I won’t ever hand off a portion of my clients’ servicing to any other company, individual, or automation. When changes to laws or industry impacts a client or clients, I want to continue to have the knowledge and time to reach out to those individual clients, because I know them so well, to give them the ability to shift or adjust based on those changes. If I sense I’m nearing the point where I might not be able to do that, I will either stop taking new clients or partner with another like-minded woman to continue the same philosophy within the firm. “Small” does not equate to lack of professionalism, knowledge, or ability.
I manage my clients’ money with the same attention and concern that I do my own. I am cautious but take appropriate risk to maximize long-term return. Attention to detail is critical to me and therefore I take the utmost care with my clients’ money and their financial well-being.
