WINNING ENTRY
Discussion:
Designers: We would like to make something clear. There are graphics here that my daughter and I could do ourselves with some or little effort. We are looking for "original" work. I made that clear in the beginning, but it's still showing up in the submissions. Also, when we grade your entry a score of 5 that does not mean this is a prize winning entry. It means that the graphic has matured for the most part. I have awarded a few 5's that we could have done ourselves. We treat everyone equal in getting their graphics to be as best as they can be. However, what we score as 5 and what we like may be two different things. Thanks, Author
Designers: Since the contest has about three days left, we are going to try to steer everyone more quickly to their goal. Here are more observations: 1. Muted or faded colors will probably not work thoughout the entire design. 2. Using cartoonish like characters will probably not work. 3. Having your tree growing out of a book will not work (it's already been done - 4 times now.) 4. Keeping your colors at 3 - 5 is optimal. (Again, less is more.) 5. Yellow arcs will not work. (This design has already been used at least twice.) Thanks, author
Designers: In reference to nida, and B.T we have a GREAT many submissions here and it took us a week to get the hang of things. That being, get everyone's graphics "done" whether we were in love with them or not. Our perspective on "done" means a score of 5 - not that is looks great (though some do). We are giving more of them out each day as many finish their graphics and the contest comes to a close. So yes, generally 5's will be considered. However, my daughter cannot keep up with all the submissions and even noticed one I scored a 3 that she would have scored a 4 or higher. So, we will be going back though every single graphic at the end to make sure we BOTH agree. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to score that to a finishing 5 after a few more submissions. The score of 5 is to help both of us so you can stop working on the graphic and try another and I can help others get the feel we are looking for in into their work. I will assure you that anything 3 or less WILL NOT be considered in the pool of contest winners. There are just too many 4's and 5's at this point. Thanks
Designers: We have 1/2 a day left and as we wind down we want to mention one thing. All graphics produced here are expected to be "original". We are pretty sure we said this at the top of the this contest when referring to "artistic and not "cookie cutter" graphics. The winners (when decided) will be contacted and we will request that they ascertain this fact, so we have it for my records. The last thing we need is some other artist, company, or concern pursuing us for infringement of any kind. So, it is our hope that everyone here used their own custom graphics or graphics they have full rights to in order to produce their logos. We have big plans here and some of these graphics will get visibility. Though we will own them we have every intention of building you web site and/or email address into the protfolio area as well as into the enlarge graphic area. Thanks
Designers: We have decided to award 5 winners to the contest and they have all been notified using PM. Please check your PM! If they agree, then we will post the results for everyone to see and flag the overall contest winner. Thanks, Author
