Rock Chasing is a popular blog and informational website that helps rock, gem, and mineral collectors, amateur geologists, and other hobbyists find great locations for collecting as well as information about various topics related to the hobby.

Our target audience are those who are interested in rockhounding (searching and collecting rocks, minerals, and gems) as well as people who are interested in the geology. Typically this is adults based in the US.

The design should have the following

Like all great logos needs to be iconic and very simple - not too busy. It should show up well on both white and black backgrounds.

Dimensions - This should be a wider logo that is much wider than it is tall. It will be at the top of our webpage and we don't want it to take up any unnecessary height. Everything should be on a single line so don't stack anything.

Colors: Use earthy or natural colors (browns, greens, greens, etc.) that make sense for collectors of rocks and gems as well as those who spend a lot of time outdoors collecting and finding them. 

Font: something clean and modern, not too jagged / blocky and not too bubbly either.

Iconography: Include some iconography related to rocks, minerals, and gems or the finding and collection of them.  Designs must incorporate iconography into the text vs just having an icon next to text. Logos with an icon next to text will not be chosen.
