This is not a website. It is an icon that represents the two words above. I am building a series of sites that will use the icon you create. They will be dedicated to provide research based, factual ideas, insight and resources for individuals who work at various disciplines. 'Each site will use the words Know Your in front of the topic of interest. Examples are knowyouroperations.com, knowyoursport.com, knowyourmarketing.com, knowyourresearch.com, knowyourfinance.com, knowyourmanufacturing.com, basically:

Any topical area significant enough in that it is considered an area of expertise or focus unto itself:

• Requires a level of expertise and knowledge to do well
• Has various models
• Is either technical or non-technical
• Can benefit from simplification
• Requires research and understanding of participants, decision makers and buyers to achieve success
• Includes frameworks and methods
• Experts consider it a career and are key to excellence

While I have these various sites such as knowyourmarketing or knowyoursports, what I do not have is a shared icon for "Know Your." That is what this contest is about, create the holistic icon that is shared across all of them.

This is a critical icon for my future efforts. That is why is has such a substantial prize. Please do not copy other entries to this contest that are highly rated. (It must be very frustrating to come up with an original idea and see others try to rip it off) That will not be allowed for any contest I hold.

You will create the icon and then, in delivering it, the winner will provide it in a version that enables it be used with different text such as Know Your Research, or Know Your Music. That is standalone and so I can drop in different text lines to accompany it. I'd like you to use the Know Your Marketing text to provide me an example.

The design should have the following

I need your brilliance to create an icon that:
- Is simplistic, modern, and approachable
- Can or cannot use not use the letters K or Y but cannot use the words Know Your as that will be contained in a separate line with the name of the topic
- Has tagline or does not have tagline "It Pays to Know"
- Gives an indication of insight, community, ideas, action, flow, simplifying compexlity, traction, inspiration, innovation, expertise and/or the creation of new value.
- Uses a primary color and shading and a maximum of three colors
- Is iconic in that it leaves an impression
- Is not limiting in that its feel must be synergistic with any topic, thus it must be universal
- Will reduce extremely well

This logo will be used for

• Online (Website, facebook etc.)
• Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)

This design should not have this in the entries

Clip art. Bit map art, photos, previous work.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

Royal blue, gray, maroon, colbalt blue, or other colors, just not orange or colors that provide poor contrast with background of white.
