Company or website name

lotus + soul

Describe your company and organization and target audience

we are a new company that will be making inspirational clothing and accessories

The design should have the following

there are a few different things we are looking for, and here are some ideas we had that may hopefully help you guys

our name is lotus + soul
so we need that in all lowercase letters.
we were thinking of maybe having a lotus flower in between the words and adding the + sign somewhere in the lotus flower, where it is noticeable.
the other thought we had would to be to use the O in lotus and the O in soul as a lotus flower and have the + sign stay that way, or maybe create a cooler looking + sign
we definitely want to have a lotus flower that we can also use as just a symbol on our clothes or accessories without having to write lotus/soul. So with that, there would not need to be a + sign in that. (or it could have a + sign just depending on what it looks like)

also, name and logo must be written as is.
lotus + soul
(not one word on top of the other)

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)

This design should not have this in the entries

we are pretty open to almost all ideas.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

Since different colored lotuses mean different things, we would like something with multiple colors.
here is some info we have found about the lotus flower.

The lotus flower has eight petals which correspond to the Eightfold Path of Good Law. It is one of the most common symbols of Buddhism and represents the stages of enlightenment. The lotus flower rises from the depths of a muddy river, blooms and thrives. This symbolizes the human who rises from the darkness of the world into a new way of thinking and living. It is a symbol of rebirth, growth and purification of spirit. The lotus flower also represents faith. The different colors of the lotus flower in Buddhism hold significant meaning.

White: This color symbolizes being pure in body, mind and spirit. It symbolizes the heart of the Buddhas, and also represents overcoming obstacles of the human nature.Red: This color symbolizes emotional attachments of the heart. It represents love, compassion, passion and other heart-centered emotions. It is usually depicted with its petals open to represent the heart being open and filled with love.Blue: As a representation of wisdom and common sense, the blue lotus flower is often seen as only partially open. It symbolizes knowledge, learning and intelligence. The blue lotus flower is never fully opened, and its center is not seen. This represents the continual need to gain wisdom, learn and expand the mind in order to reach enlightenment.Pink: A representation of the Buddha himself, the pink lotus represents the history and legends of the Buddha.Purple: This is the color that represents mysticism and spirituality. It is shown in several ways such as one stem or three stems. Its petals are shown both opened and closed. It is sometimes a bud and sometimes fully bloomed. All of these differences represent the different mystical and spiritual journeys taken on the path to enlightenment.

so these are the traditional colors of the lotus, and would love to incorporate as many as possible without it looking too crazy. (for the flower itself) however, feel free to use only 2 or 3 if you think that looks better for your design.

As for the words lotus+soul we want all lowercase letters, and again would like to stay on the same path as lotus flower colors, however we only want the words in one color. It may be best for you to choose the color you think goes best with your flower design.

If you do add the + sign in the flower deign, please make sure it is noticeable. And if you can make it out of some other type of design, that would be cool as well.

So to clear it up, there are 2 options
1. write lotus + soul and use a lotus flower instead of the + sign (but try to incorporate the + sign INSIDE the flower somewhere.
2. write lotus + soul using a lotus flower instead of the O's but leave the + sign as is.
