Describe your company and organization and target audience

Gay-owned and operated upscale boutique motel, the Homestead is not only a motel but an experience. Sustainability being the ultimate goal, we focus on sourcing all goods locally from our renowned farmers market to community artists and craftsmen. Showcasing the beauty in simplicity and efficiency, we provide luxury that you can feel good about. The Homestead is an opportunity to create community while away from your home. Our target audience is the LGBTQIA+ community looking for a fun reprieve from the daily grind or in need of rest on route to their destination.

The design should have the following

We were thinking of using the California Poppy or California Daisy (Seaside Fleabane) as an icon/logo, but not 100% sure. We are not also completely set on a color scheme for a logo, but the rooms will have lots of navy blue, terra cotta, golds, grays, and leather. Coincidentally the first 2 letters of HOmestead and MOtel create the word HOMO. We wondered if there might be a subtle way to showcase that for our target audience as a fun little wink. Other items that might be fun to include would be an overnight duffle bag or an old farm truck (these are suggestions, not requirements).

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
  • Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
  • Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
  • Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

Not a fan of bubble letters.

Does NOT have to include these, but suggestions are Navy Blue, Gold, Olive Green, Burnt Orange/Terracotta, or even unfinished wood tones.
