Describe your company and organization and target audience

I am an Underwater Photographer. I photograph a diverse list of animals and other species underwater with specially made gear. Hatchwise Designers did such a great job designing a recent logo for an organization that I lead called the South Florida Underwater Photography Society that I decided I would like to update my own logo/brand.

The design should have the following

While this is a logo contest it really is a reflection of my branding as I place watermarks on my images to prevent unauthorized use, I will list on business cards, an up and coming website, and all other promotional materials. What is important to me is simplicity where I could either list my name, "Sam" next to an image so it could be a free-standing graphic depicting something relevant to underwater photography or incorporated into my name. The logo or design should not overpower my name, "Sam" as a brand but is meant to compliment it. In other words, I could use it as a design and print it but people would see it as an extension of me. I presently list my signature with date as my current logo and design. I am still thinking of retaining this concept but am open to other more creative ideas. I would like the option to list a date in the form of a year and update it annually or be able to incorporate a date in a space near the image if I so choose. Design must be elegant and symbolic. I love color but be mindful of making sure the image fits appropriately on a black/white/blue/gray background. If I place as a watermark on top of an image it will be a lighter gradient of the design so the image must still be legible.

• Online (Website, facebook etc.)
• Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
• Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
• Television/screen

This design should not have this in the entries

I do not want a cartoon-like design, image must be professional with a well-thought out design concept. Nothing with too much detail that gets lost if I resize the graphic too small. Try not to use a background as this is a logo.
