Heres a tip for you. You need to prepay for the contest. Nobody wants to waste time designing something good to have the CH not pick anyone nor pay anyone. It's happened all too often to many of the good designers on this site to the point they don't even design a logo for them unless they are bored. Me I am just barely an average designer and for my logo I just threw something out there to see where you were at. Clearly I was not in the right direction and might try again.

Also keep in mind its early so the combination of early in the contest + not prepaid = your going to get nothing good at first...but trust me this site is pretty good minus the lack of administration to ban clip art kings and fraudsters.

i can see your point, but since this is my first exposure to this type of "contest", you can surely understand my reluctance to front $150 based on the results so far. everything i've seen so far i can do myself. i would gladly pay twice that amount for quality, creative work if i had some realistic expectation of results. i'd also like to develop an ongoing relationship with artists that i could rely on for regular work related to firefighter themes for t-shirts. are you interested, logoguru? are you good? if so, i'd be interested, but so far i'm not impressed. otherwise i'll find another site to explore.

Thanks for understanding :) I see your point as well and find it is common for first time users to not want to pay any money up front. Most likely the ones who do have been ones who have had success in the past. However for the matter at hand I would consider all the entries extremely basic and most likely since anyone can sign up they are doing this just for fun and practicing. Sometimes basic works but I am seeing not so much with firefighter design. I can definitely work with you in the future. Feel free to PM me for further details. I can assure you I might not be the best designer on the site but I am better than most and you are guaranteed someone who understands what a customer wants and is creative while being someone who doesn't cheat and rip off logos or use clip art illegally or stuff I am seeing is common amongst the broken English designers on this site.
