Bringing exotic handcrafted natural decor to your home
Describe your company and organization and target audience
Terra Cotta Design is a social enterprise that sells home decor products to the Canadian market. Our products are created by talented designers from India & the Middle East and are handmade by traditional artisans. They are made of only natural materials and dyes. The idea is to reorient the traditional crafts of India (and the Middle East) to the modern context by ensuring that each design has a utilitarian value and relevance today. I hope to bring a sense of pride to these master crafts-people for their skill and ensure that these crafts do not die out due to lack of patronage.By bringing these amazing designs to Canada, I hope to help keep these traditional arts alive and enliven our homes!
The design should have the following
I see my logo defining the aspects of simplicity, design, creation and natural materials . I would like the logo to strike a balance between East and West design aesthetics- be simple, fun and timeless. One of my strongest inspirations has been Mahatma Gandhi and his philosophy. The image of him at the spinning wheel really captures my company philosophy. His reason for taking to the spinning wheel was to encourage people to be self sufficient. Plus it does allude to the idea of being handmade and using natural materials. Below are links to some companies whose graphical look I like: http://www.suebulmer.blogspot.ca/ http://varnam.co.in/ http://inkidot.co.uk/
