Describe your company and organization and target audience

Spigot Café is a 56-year-old iconic neighborhood bar that was recently featured as Connecticut’s entry among the top 50 dive bars in the country. The words “Meet me at the Spigot” have been spoken by UCONN Law students, Hartford firemen, neighborhood mail carriers, politicians from the state capitol to city hall, and the waiters and bartenders from downtown Hartford to West Hartford Center. The Spigot’s signature feature is its offering of more than 100 different beers from around the world and local breweries.
The Spigot is a place where people gather with crock-pots to watch the Super Bowl, celebrate wedding engagements, or hold a surprise birthday get together. It attracts graduate students from UConn Law, Trinity, University of Hartford, and the Hartt School of Music. The beauty of The Spigot is that it has all the charm of a blue collar bar, but attracts people from all walks of life. As an analogy, some people are comfortable in suits, others in work boots, but everyone has their favorite, most comfortable shirt. The Spigot is that comfortable shirt.

The design should have the following

We would like a font and feel that is sort of retro, without being old-fashioned or quaint.
We are dabbling with the idea that the "t" at the end could he the handle of a spigot such as those on old wooden wine barrels (see photo). But it's not critical and could be too hokey.

We would want cleaner, simpler lines versus large cartoonish letters.

This logo will be used for

• Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
• Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
